The P.E.I. Brewing Company won two awards at the 2020 Canadian Brewing Awards, which were held virtually on Sept. 12.
The awards are Canada’s national competition for judging the quality of Canadian manufactured beer and a medal is a widely recognized symbol of Canadian brewing excellence.
It was an honour to have two beers recognized again on a national level, said Jeff Squires, president of the P.E.I. Brewing Company, in a media release.
“It is incredibly rewarding to have our products recognized by the industry, our peers and supporters. These two beers in particular are Island through and through and it’s quite special to have them represent P.E.I. on the national stage.”
Beach Chair Lager won silver in the North American Style Premium Lager category. The lager was first launched in 2013 as the first canned craft beer in Atlantic Canada and quickly became a go-to part of the P.E.I. experience.
The other winner was the Gahan Setting Day Saison, which won bronze in the Session Ale category. The award marks two wins for Setting Day, which took home gold at the 2016 awards.
Setting Day is made with moderate alcohol but full of character. A perfect complement to a hard day's work.
The wins mark 18 Canadian Brewing Awards for brewery, which has taken home wins in various categories every year since their inception in 2011.
