Back in October, Stantec issued a holiday challenge aiming to get local businesses into the holiday spirit by entering floats in the Downtown St. John’s Christmas Parade.
This Sunday’s 29th annual Christmas parade will feature 10 floats from businesses that accepted the challenge.
“We’re delighted that our friendly corporate challenge has had such a positive impact in the St. John’s community,” Craig Adams, a senior mechanical technologist with Stantec said.
“Supporting the Downtown St. John’s Christmas parade always brings our Stantec team together. We hope taking part in the parade brings the same energy and sense of community to our fellow businesses,” he added.
On Sunday a panel of judges will determine the best float out of the 10, and the winner will receive a $500 donation to a charity of its choice.
Stantec also chipped in this year by designing and building Santa a new sleigh.
“What I can tell you is that it’s going to have a lot more bells and whistles,” Adams said.
“Santa himself has popped into our workshop to inspect our progress and he was excited about his new ride.”
