For the 16th year in a row management and staff of Collision Clinic in St. John's have gotten into the season of giving by giving away a car.
Each year Collision Clinic purchases a vehicle that was written off by an insurance company as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Technicians and other staff of Collision Clinic then donate their time after hours and on weekends to repair and put the vehicle back in running order. Other “Santa’s Helpers” contribute to the cause, as well.
Each fall, Collision Clinic solicits applications for people who would be deserving of a free vehicle.
After deliberations by the selection committee of Darlene Didham, Paula Tessier and Darren Martin, St. John’s resident Katherine Costello was selected as this year’s recipient.
Costello and her daughter, Maggie, recieved the keys to a 2018 Nissan Versa Note during an event Wednesday at Collision Clinic's Topsail Road location .
More than just a surprise present for Christmas, the car also came as a little extra something on Wednesday – which was Maggie Costello's seventh birthday.
