The Gathering Place recently received a contribution of $50,000 from KBAC Constructors to help with the expansion of services and programs available to people who struggle with complex physical, mental and social difficulties. In making the donation Pierre Jerome of KBAC Constructors said, “The Gathering Place is committed to improving the lives of people who face difficult circumstances every single day and the corporate community realizes that they also have a responsibility to support the most vulnerable people in our society, not only during the Christmas season, but all year long. It is our hope that this donation by KBAC Constructors will help ensure that work will continue.”Gathering Place board co-chair, Sister Elizabeth Davis, said the need for services provided by The Gathering Place continues to grow and number of people who avail of programs has increased by more than 40 per cent in the last five years“While the campaign has secured 90 per cent of the funds required, there is still work to be done and without the generous support of businesses like KBAC Constructors, the work of The Gathering Place would be compromised,” she said. — Submitted photo
