SPRINGDALE, NL — The western regional high school theatre arts festival scheduled to start today in Springdale has been postponed due to the impending storm.
The festival scheduled to take place through to Saturday has been postponed until April 19.
SPRINGDALE, NL — Springdale will host the western regional high school theatre arts festival this week.
Local schools including host Indian River High — winner of last year’s Best Overall Production — Copper Ridge Academy of Baie Verte and Valmont Academy of King’s Point will send drama groups to the event, which begins Thursday.
Pasadena Academy, Corner Brook Regional High and Immaculate Heart of Corner Brook, Elwood High and Xavier Junior High of Deer Lake, and Gros Morne Academy will also be represented.
Outside of the performances, the young thespians and technicians will also participate in workshops and receive valuable advice from adjudicators. A multitude of awards will be handed out at the end of the festival Saturday, including which group will represent the region at the provincial drama festival in Clarenville May 3-5.
Performances by the high school theatre groups will be open to the public. There is no admission fee.

2-3 p.m. — Immaculate Heart (junior) of Corner Brook
3-4 p.m. — Immaculate Heart (senior) of Corner Brook
4-5 p.m. — Gros Morne Academy
