ST. LUNAIRE-GRIQUET, N.L. – The town of St. Lunaire-Griquet recently celebrated its fifth annual Mussel Festival.
The event kicked off on Wednesday, Aug. 1 with the Miss St. Lunaire-Griquet pageant and continued until Aug. 5.
There was lots of fun games, cod jigging, food, music and dancing throughout the celebrations.
The second annual Miss St. Lunaire-Griquet pageant was great fun for all involved.
Lots of laughs were shared as the young participants showed their sense of humour and charmed the audience.
This year, Arianna Anderson was named Little Miss St. Lunaire-Griquet in the kindergarten-Grade 3 category while Makayla Rose won the Miss St. Lunaire-Griquet title in the Grade 4-6 group.
Arianna received her crown from last year’s Little Miss St. Lunaire-Griquet winner Emma Richards.
Miss Teen Canada Victoria Burden helped host the event and presented participants with their certificates and sashes. Victoria is from Goose Bay, but her father is originally from St. Lunaire-Griquet.
