Festival of Lights - The Bay Roberts Festival of Lights 2019 is running until Jan. 3 with too many events to list here. For a full schedule of events visit www.bayroberts.com.

Dec. 12, 6 p.m.

Annual Seniors Evening – The event is being held in Bay Roberts on Thursday, Dec. 12. The bus will leave Ascension Collegiate at 6 p.m. First there will be a drive around the municipality to see the lights and decorations, then a stop at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, to see the display of Nativity Scenes from all over the world. Then off to Port de Grave to see the boats and a visit to the ‘Christmas Chalet’ to see the decorations and enjoy some entertainment by the Conception Bay Show band. Of course an evening isn’t complete without a lunch and maybe some surprise visitors! After all the festivities, the bus will return to Ascension. Free tickets available for pick up at the Town Office in Bay Roberts

Dec. 14, 8 a.m. -12:30 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa - Breakfast With Santa being held Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Knights of Columbus in Carbonear from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Santa will also be available for free pictures so just bring a camera.

Dec. 15, 7 p.m.

Jannies Parade – The 6th annual Jannies Parade is being held in Carbonear on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. People are encouraged to meet at Harbour Rock Hill and walk to the Knights of Columbus for an evening filled with fun and entertainment for the whole family. People are encouraged to dress up and bring along your ugly sticks. Donations will be accepted for the food bank.

Dec. 15, 2-4 p.m.

Mayor’s Christmas Tea – Have tea with the Mayor of Spaniards Bay at the Avalon Room at the town office from 2-4 p.m.

Dec. 21, 2-3 p.m.

Free Community Skate - Drop by the Danny Cleary Harbour Grace Community Centre on Saturday, Dec. 21 for a free community skate, brought to you by the Splash Centre's staff and board of directors.

Dec. 21, 9 a.m.

Breakfast with Santa - The big man himself will be at the Lodge in Tilton stating at 9 a.m. The event is hosted by L.O.L # 153 and Santa will have a prize for all children attending the breakfast, photos can be taken. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for kids.

Dec. 21, 7 p.m.

Mummers Parade  - The LOBA #1341’s 2nd Annual Mummers Parade is being held in Tilton starting at 7 p.m.  People are encouraged to dress up and parade around the community. The parade will start from the Lodge in Tilton.

Dec. 22, 3 p.m.

Story Time with Santa – Santa reads stories to children in an old fashioned setting on Sunday Dec. 22 at the Train Station Museum in Carbonear. Picture with Santa is included and the session’s starts at 3 p.m. Space is limited so call 596-7535 to register for a session.

Dec. 23, 5-7 p.m.

Festive Turkey Dinner -The Harbour Grace Civic Events Committee will be hosting their annual Festive Turkey Dinner with all of the trimmings at the Harbour Grace Volunteer Fire Brigade's Social Building on Monday, Dec. 23, from 5-7 p.m. In order to prepare, the elves need to know the number of people attending. Tickets are required for admission; they are no charge and available through Michelle Pike (596-0800) or at the Harbour Grace Council Office until December 20. If you require transportation, please contact Ken Tetford at 597-5465.

Dec. 26, 1 p.m.

Boxing Day entertainment – The annual Boxing Day Raffles and live entertainment will be happening at the Orange Lodge in Tilton hosted by the Men’s lodge. Doors will open at 1 p.m., with raffles starting at 2 p.m.
