SYDNEY, N.S. — The 2020 Juno Awards nominees were unveiled Tuesday morning and among those making the cut this year was Natalie MacMaster, who was nominated for best Traditional Roots Album.
The nominated album is called “Sketches.” It was released in Nov., 2019, and was MacMaster’s first solo studio album in eight years.
She’ll compete in the category with April Verch (Once A Day), Miranda Mulholland (By Appointment Or Chance), The Dead South (Sugar & Joy) and The Small Glories (Assiniboine & The Red).
The 49th Juno Awards will air live on CBC from SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon on March 15.
This year’s show will be hosted by Alessia Cara who also tops this year’s nominations with six, including artist of the year.
