Brody Jenner, star of The Hills: New Beginnings and son of Caitlyn Jenner, split from wife Kaitlynn Carter on Aug.2, just a year after their wedding.
The couple got married in a stunning ceremony in Indonesia with 50 close friends and family. Except it turns out they never filed their marriage licence so they only got married in their hearts, not in their taxes.
Sources told TMZ the couple ultimately split because Kaitlynn wanted a baby and a legal marriage to Brody and he wanted neither. Brody does not appear to be a model husband on “The Hills: New Beginnings” where he stays out late partying and flirting with women who aren’t his wife. He does, however, appear to be a model. Full stop. The guy is handsome. But no one is handsome enough to treat people poorly.
A week later the plot thickens as Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth separate after eight months of marriage. The same day the breakup was announced, photos of Miley and Kaitlynn in Italy surfaced.
At first it appeared they were just two gal pals deciding to make the best of a bad time. And then a photo of them kissing surfaced! I’m sure somewhere the producers of The Hills are trying desperately to sign Miley for season two.
Post PDA photo shoot, Brody took to Instagram sharing a photo of himself with a beautiful Malibu background and the caption, “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.” Oooo how cryptic! How emo!
But seriously, breakups are hard. I once gave up dairy for a month, so I know how he feels. Brandon Lee Thompson (son of Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson) commented on Brody’s post, “Let’s round this scandal out and post a pic of us making out.” Brody poked fun at his ex by responding, “Watch out! Pics of Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon.”
And then, Miley comes in with, “go take a nap in your truck and cool off #HotGirlSummer.” Let me catch you up – in an episode of “The Hills: New Beginnings”, Brody told Kaitlynn he’d be home at 2 a.m. but didn’t show up until 4. She locked him out of the house and he had to sleep in his truck. Miley is referencing this fight and him being an idiot (or at least that’s my take on it).
#HotGirlSummer was a phrase turned into a song by Megan Thee Stallion (ft Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign). It’s all about having a carefree attitude, good vibes, hyping up your girlfriends, and being hot.
Former Bachelorette, Hannah Brown, has jumped on the Hot Girl Summer train and now Miley and Kaitlynn are aboard, too. I wonder if this train allows women who are married, like eating carbs, and going to bed at 9 p.m. Asking for myself.
And there you have it. The divorces, the drama, and the celebrity comments to fuel the fire in the last few weeks of hot girl summer.
