James Taylor has called off his Canadian tour with Bonnie Raitt, including the Friday, May 1 concert at Halifax’s Scotiabank Centre, the May 2 show in Moncton, N.B. and the May 5 show at Mile One in St. John's, N.L.

In a tweet over the weekend, Taylor said he received many messages urging him to make a decision on the tour in light of COVID-19.

“We were so looking forward to the tour, it breaks my heart to call it off. But that’s what we must do. All the medical information suggests that small and large gatherings may well put people at risk. That is the last thing we would ever want to do. I hope we can reschedule for the not-too-distant future.”

He said refund information will be made available.
