People who adopt a dog commit a significant amount of time to find their perfect rescue dog. These people openly communicate with rescues and shelters, which will help find the particular dog for their lifestyle. There are many dogs with different personalities, exercise needs, and ages looking for homes. It will take time to find a dog, but when you do, that day becomes what rescuers refer to as the adoption day, or "Gotcha Day."
In many cases, the adoptive family or the rescue organization will not be aware of the dog's birthday, but the "Gotcha Day" becomes a day of celebration each year. The date is the official day a dog becomes a cherished family member. Most often there is cake, presents, treats, cake, candles, and plenty of sweet pictures. The adoptive parents will most likely post the images on social media sites and then the celebration continues.
Anyone can buy a dog, but not everyone can adopt one. Adoption is a significant commitment that rescue organizations take seriously. These organizations will take in a surrendered dog and care for it for a substantial amount of time at the shelter or with a foster family. Either way, they become emotionally attached to the dog. Placing that dog in a permanent home is not taken lightly. Therefore, if you find yourself approved for adoption, you should proudly celebrate your "Gotcha Day."
Providing a homeless dog with a secure place to live is one of the most extraordinary acts of kindness a person can offer. It’s a selfless act of love that will ultimately change your character and behaviour. Dogs are not disposable, and they find themselves homeless because of the actions or inactions of human beings.
As a society, we domesticated dogs and brought them into our homes. They enrich the lives of people every day, and they ask for nothing in return.
