The Marion Bridge and Area Community Council thought it would be fun to include a living nativity scene as part of the annual Christmas light up celebration this year.
Festivities will begin with the tree light up near St. Columba Hall on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. Residents are then invited to the Marion Bridge Recreation Centre to view the nativity scene.
Santa will be on hand to greet youngsters. There will be hot chocolate and Christmas goodies as well as an exciting family show from magician and illusionist Paul Nass.
The community council is looking for nativity scene participants, ages 7-12. Costumes will be provided. If you are interested in having your child involved, email his/her name, age and a contact number to [email protected] by Thursday.
Christmas production
What on earth are the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy doing in a Christmas play?
Well, anything can happen when Santa leaves an elf named Bumbles in charge of the all-important jar of Christmas magic. As one would expect, things go awry.
Come to Marion Bridge to see if Bumbles can save the most important day of the year?
“Bumbles’ Big Christmas Adventure” by Ingrid Hansen Smythe, will hit the stage at the Marion Bridge Recreation Centre on Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m.
According to Mira Players director Kelly Lynn Kirk, this year’s dinner theatre production is one that the entire family can enjoy.
“I think this is a great show to introduce children to theatre.”
Kick off the holiday season and treat your family to “Bumbles’ Big Christmas Adventure.” Tickets are $25 per person and are selling fast. They can be purchased at Mullins Rite Stop in Albert Bridge or by phoning Joan at 902-577-1753.
