Temptation Island returns
Temptation Island is a reality television show that makes The Bachelor look like church camp. Couples move to a tropical island where they live in separate houses and date other people, trying to resist temptation, and ultimately deciding if they want to leave the island together, apart, or with someone new. It’s a mess! A beautiful, entertaining, attention-grabbing mess that I love and await each week. It airs Tuesdays on USA Network.
Baby number two for Meghan and Harry
A spokesperson for the royal duo announced Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their second child. The announcement came with a stunning black and white photo of the couple lounging in the grass, smiling at each other, with Meghan cradling her baby bump. I don’t want to push a friendship but I’m also expecting a baby and I love lounging (although most of my lounging happens on the couch, as evidenced by the five-foot-five, permanent body indentation - not under a tree with a photographer present).
Paris Hilton got engaged
The socialite, entrepreneur, DJ, and inventor of the phrase “that’s hot” got engaged to her boyfriend of 15 months, Carter Reum. The big news was shared on the hotel heiress’s 40th birthday with various photos of the elaborate event. Paris has had many opportunities to practice her engagement poses because she’s been proposed to three times before. While my most recent Google is, “Do expiry dates really matter?” Paris’s is probably, “How to stop getting guys to propose to me.” In People magazine, Paris said, “This past year with COVID has accelerated so many things. As someone who travelled constantly, I had a chance to stay home and reevaluate what was important to me. My relationship and the time I spent with Carter was a gift. I'm excited for our next chapter." It seems she is happy, in love, committed, and adding another million-dollar custom diamond to her collection.
Current celebrity controversies
Chris Harrison, Shia Labeouf, and Armie Hammer are swimming in controversy right now. I wanted to write an entire column on these situations but there is absolutely no way for me to find humour in any of these racist and abusive situations.
Kourtney Kardashian has a new boyfriend
The most gluten-free of the Kardashians has a brand-new boyfriend, Travis Barker. Travis was the drummer for Blink 182 and has been friends with Kourtney for many years.
A source confirmed the rumours to People on Valentine’s Day, and Kourtney further confirmed the news by sharing of a photo of her holding Travis’ very identifiable tattooed hand.
