While the world seems to be locking down once again, celebrity news seems to be heating up. From Zoom auditions gone wrong to divorces, grief and sick celebrities, there’s certainly plenty to keep up on.

Director doesn’t realize he’s unmuted on Zoom

Recently a video went viral where Euphoria star Lukas Gage was auditioning for a director via Zoom. The director thought he was muted and mockingly said, “These poor people live in these tiny apartments. Like I’m looking at his background and he’s got his TV…” before Lukas cut him off.

Tristram Shapeero, director of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Community, wrote a letter identifying himself as the morally questionable director. He offered an apology and explained that he didn’t mean “poor” in the economic sense but instead he meant it sympathetically as being rough for upcoming actors quarantining in small apartments and fighting for the few roles available at the time.

The full apology came across quite genuine (to me, someone who was merely a bystander in this drama) and he could have easily let it blow over without ever identifying himself so props to Shapeero.

I have to say though, the TV situation that Shapeero was mocking was a wall mounted big screen so as I look at my medium screen TV that rests on a console table, I’ve never felt so poor. In both the economic and sympathetic sense.

Megan Fox filed for divorce from Brian Austin Green

Megan Fox has been publicly dating Machine Gun Kelly since June but she finally got around to filing for divorce from her current husband, Brian Austin Green. Fox cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce and requested joint custody of the kids and no spousal support for either parent. The couple share three children and have been married for 10 years.

Chrissy Teigen opens up about grief

In September, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend shared the tragic loss of their baby Jack, who was born premature due to pregnancy complications.

Chrissy recently opened up about what the past couple of months have been like for her, describing them as brutal, exhausting, sad, physically challenging, and mentally painful. But she said she is finding humour in her rage and in the outfits she has been wearing. Things seem to be getting slowly better for the model as she describes “horn honks on my forced morning walks only bring me to my knees half the time.”

My heart goes out to Chrissy and John who are my all-time favourite celebrity couple (tell the others, I don’t even care!).

Tons of celebrities had coronavirus

Khloe Kardashian, Neil Patrick Harris, Prince Charles, Prince William, Madonna, Pink, Idris Elba, Lena Dunham, Andy Cohen, Ben Platt, Hugh Grant, Charlie Hunnam, Trey Songz, Robert Pattinson, Kevin Hart, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and so many other celebrities have battled coronavirus.

Their experiences range from asymptomatic to the sickest they’ve ever been.

Stay safe, healthy and always check that your Zoom is muted!
