NEW WATERFORD, N.S. —

A former New Waterford resident was the lucky winner of a multi-million-dollar showhome in Alberta last week.

Barb (White) Warner and husband Bob of High River, Alta., won the top prize in the Calgary Hospital Foundation draw — a 5,700-square-foot lakeside home in the southeast Calgary community of Mahogany. Along with the home, the couple also took home a $100,000 cash prize.

The showhome is worth $2.6 million.

The hospital foundation fundraiser raised more than $5 million in support of health care for Albertans.
