It’s Halloween season! We’re changing the clocks back, and, all of a sudden, Hallmark Christmas movies are being showcased. We’re certainly living in uncertain times, thanks to COVID-19, but that doesn’t mean our lives stop. As long as we all practice hand-washing, mask-wearing and keeping a safe distance – we can still have fun, especially in the shopping department:
TOP HALLOWEEN CANDY: Will we be trick-or-treating? Or will we be hoarding the stash for some binge-watching of scary movies this weekend. Whatever your plans – nothing beats those tiny little morsels of sweetness, especially during the spook season.
What are the most popular? According to RetailMeNot.ca’s latest survey, Reese’s (52%), M&M’s (51%), Kit Kat’s (48%) and Snickers (46%) are still among the most popular candies, while Skittles (27%) and other non-chocolate based candies are the candies one grabs when all the popular ones are gone!

GETTING SPOOKED THE SAFE WAY: Giving in to demand, and with full safety protocols in place, the Liberty Entertainment Group is offering up a safe celebration of Halloween with a special self-guided walking tour of the historic Casa Loma. General admission of the castle allows visitors to enjoy the spectacular and scary sets scattered throughout the renowned property’s grounds and tunnels.
“Guests can now safely experience our spectacular Halloween sets at Casa Loma, and tour at their leisure through the lower gardens and into the tunnels, which have been transformed into the ultimate haunted house,” says Nick Di Donato, president & CEO, Liberty Entertainment Group. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer a completely safe viewing experience for families and their kids that have been looking to ways to celebrate one of the most cherished times of the year.”
The castle certainly has a haunting quality, especially when darkness falls! Open through to this Sunday Nov. 1, from 9:30 a.m., to 5 p.m. Check out Casaloma.ca for additional details. Libertygroup.com.
