CORNER BROOK, N.L. — Maid: a single woman considered too old for marriage.
It’s a definition that Corner Brook’s Wendy Woodland and Kelly-Ann Evans of St. John’s are challenging with the question of “What about choosing to be Modern Maid/Made” in their west meets east musical theatre cabaret Tales of the Modern Maid.
Modern maids, according to the performers, choose to live with their own set of rules — power, positivity, strength and their right — and the two will explore “life as they know it” in their show.
The show will take place this Friday and Saturday at the Rotary Arts Centre in Corner Brook and will feature some classics and some more contemporary numbers.
The two will be joined by Jennifer Matthews on piano and by special guest Anna Barrett.
Tickets for the two shows, which start at 8 p.m. are available at the centre and online.
