Working hard for a sexually healthy Cape Breton

Erin MacDonald, left, and Vanessa Walker pack the trunk of MacDonald's car with packages of sexual health products like condoms, dental dams and menstrual cups, which they were delivering to 48 places from Eskasoni to Glace Bay on Sept. 25. Walker, who works for the Cape Breton Centre for Sexual Health, said they closed their office and are working remotely so she put a post on Facebook about having these products available. The sexual educator said within two hours, all the Diva Cup menstrual products were gone. "(With no physical office) I had to get creative with how to get safe sex supplies out there," said Walker, who also packed safer sex books in some packages. Walker said it's thanks to partners like Friendly Divas in Halifax who donate the menstrual cups the centre is able to provide products like these for free.
