In news straight out of a comic strip, Star Wars favourites Mark Hamill and Adam Driver recently helped rescue a director’s dog who had gone missing.
Driver was in Belgium at the time, shooting the movie musical Annette , when director Leos Carax’s dog Javelot suddenly disappeared.
“Everyone was distraught,” Driver said to The Hollywood Reporter . “I have a dog. And sets mould into family really quickly, and that extends to their family as well.”
Like a real hero, Driver shot a quick video while standing next to a lost dog poster of Javelot, asking fans to please help.
“If anyone has seen him, please give us a call,” he said in the video. “He’s very much a member of the family to the crew. We will put you in the movie. We’ll give you chocolate. We’ll christen your child. We’ll do anything as a way of saying thank you.”
Driver, who isn’t on social media, forwarded the video to Hamill, his Star Wars co-star, and asked if he wouldn’t mind tweeting it out.
Hamill did indeed share the video, tweeting, “We want to make sure he is warm-has shelter & fed.”
Thanks to that tweet, the video was seen 800,000 times. And soon came the happy ending, when Javelot was spotted at a train station on Thursday and returned to Carax.
“Mark is a powerful, powerful guy,” Driver said.
Driver will appear alongside Hamill in the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker in December . This news should hold fanboys over until then.
