ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — About 300 people were served a Thanksgiving turkey dinner at The Gathering Place in St. John’s on Wednesday.
A note from The Gathering Place states that Susan Patten donated all the “fixins” and joined volunteers to help serve the meals.
The Gathering Place is a Community Health Centre in the city committed to building community, promoting equality and providing food, clothing, medical help, dental help and counselling services to vulnerable individuals in the community.
The programs and services are offered primarily to people who are homeless or live in less than desirable housing conditions, people who are often unemployed and to people who do not have adequate social supports at this time in their lives.
