The six-episode TV series, which will air on NTV at 4:30 p.m., follows four St. John’s entrepreneurs through successes and failures over the course of about eight months.
J.P. Morrissey of Eat Clean Healthy Grill and Juice Bar, Kelly-Ann Evans of City Performance Academy/Red Dress Entertainment, Don-E Coady of DC Design House and Kim Paddon of Whink! Enterprise star in the show.

“I wanted to showcase entrepreneurs because I was one, too, and there are a lot of ups and downs, peaks and valleys. It’s a jungle out here,” Love says. “I wanted to celebrate local entrepreneurs and promote entrepreneurship to young people, letting them know that they can come up with an idea and go after it, too.”
Love’s last project was a similar reality-TV show, “Open House NL,” which showcased the life and work of four local real estate agents. The show aired on NTV last fall, to a positive response.
Filmmaker Roger Maunder, who also worked on that production, has joined Love once again for the new series as director and editor.
The hard work of each of the businesswomen and men is evident, but the result isn’t always pretty — “Entrepreneur NL” doesn’t shy away from showing the challenges, such as employees quitting and, in the case of Morrissey, the closing down of two business locations. (Eat Clean is no longer open in Newfoundland, but a franchise in Fort McMurray is booming, and Morrissey is in the midst of doing a deal for four more Alberta franchises, Love says.)
Following the “Open House NL” format, there’s lots of footage of the entrepreneurs at work, interviews with family members and tips from the St. John’s Board of Trade, lawyer Erin Best of Stewart McKelvey law firm and Noseworthy Chapman Chartered Accountants.
