Whether it proves fleeting or something that is sustainable, Twitter has been testing disappearing tweets dubbed Fleets .

The American microblogging and social networking service has dabbled in the feature for a while.

It is now ready for a global roll out after testing Fleets in several countries.

Fleets serve as Stories similar to those in Instagram and Facebook and they disappear after 24 hours.

Fleets can’t be retweeted and you can’t even reply, though you can send a direct message or send an emoji.

As with Stories, you can customize how they look and share photos and video as well as text.

Stickers will also be available soon.

Twitter product manager Sam Haveson suggests the feature will help people “feel more comfortable” with a “lower pressure way for people to talk about what’s happening.”

Twitter previously tested Fleets in Brazil, Italy, India and South Korea, saying people shared more as a result.
