More than 80 vehicles and hundreds of people got together on a recent Saturday to help Helen Stewart MacRae celebrate her 94th birthday.
Much to the surprise – and delight – of this well-known P.E.I. musician, the parade, which was led by the old Dodge black-and-white vehicle from Charlottetown Police Services, streamed past her as she sat in front of her house in the Sherwood neighbourhood of Charlottetown.
Balloons, banners and bubbles, horn-toots and happy birthdays provided a grand boost for her spirits and a fine way for so many people to be able to express their appreciation and caring for her.
