From spicy (Flamin’ Frog Legs) to sweet (Butter Beer Ice Cream) to downright weird (Octo Lolly), the Calgary Stampede has released its offerings of midway food with something for every tastebud.
This year, the Stampede has amped up the pickles, fire and doughnuts, along with some daring twists on traditional midway fare.
“The spectacular and inventive dishes brought to the Midway every year, truly make the Calgary Stampede experience fun and memorable,” said James Radke, manager for retail attractions and midway operations, in a news release this morning.
This year, Food Network Canada is launching ‘Take a Bite Outta Stampede’, offering guests a unique way to navigate the midway smorg. There will be a competition for best new food, and the return of daily food awards highlighting the ‘best of’ across a number of categories.
Here’s a sampling of some of the offerings (you can see the complete menu here ).
