More than 1,000 people gathered in Bowring Park Saturday evening for the city’s second annual Light the Night Walk in support of blood cancer research.

Organized by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, about 200 communities across North America participate in the walks each fall.

At twilight, people in Bowring Park walked with lanterns raised to support the more than 138,000 Canadians affected by blood cancer.
