Some of the 220 students and 25 teachers and 38 daycare kids from the Association of New Canadians (ANC) English Second Language (ESL) Training Centre on Smithville Crescent in St. John’s held their annual Terry Fox Walk through the Rennies River walking trail Wednesday morning.

Fox was a Canadian athlete, humanitarian, and cancer research activist, who in 1980 with one leg having been amputated due to cancer, embarked on an east to west cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. He died in 1981.
