Bail hearing for man accused of robbing Clarenville Dollarama postponed until Jan. 18

CLARENVILLE, NL — The bail hearing scheduled for Monday, Jan. 15, for Mitchell Fennell, who was charged with the Jan. 10 armed robbery of Clarenville's Dollarama, has been postponed until Thursday, Jan. 18.

Fennell first appeared in Clarenville provincial court Thursday, Jan. 11. He appeared in court again the next day for a bail hearing, which was delayed until Monday, Jan. 15.

Fennell is charged with armed robbery of $87.75, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes (the knife used in the robbery), as well as disguising with intent.

Police say he entered the store at around 9 a.m. armed with a pocket knife, and fled the scene with the money.

Fennell also faces a charge of stealing two cans of beer from Clarenville Esso on Jan. 2, 2018.
