Bail hearing scheduled for Catalina man facing attempted murder, assault charges

CLARENVILLE, N.L.— A bail hearing for a Catalina man facing two attempted murder charges and multiple assault charges has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 16.

Tyler Hicks, 26, was arrested following an incident in Bonavista on Monday, April 16, that left three people in hospital.

Hicks is alleged to have struck another vehicle with his own vehicle. He is also alleged to have assaulted two of the occupants of the other vehicle with a bat.

In total, he faces two attempted murder charges, two aggravated assault charges, five charges of assault with a weapon (three of these charges list a motor vehicle as a weapon, while two list the bat as a weapon), an assault charge, two charges of uttering threats, two charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (the bat), and the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
