MARYSTOWN, N.L. — On Monday, Feb. 18, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Burin Peninsula RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision on Route 220 near Point May.

A 35-year-old man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and died on scene.

A collision reconstructionist from RCMP Traffic Services attended the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been engaged. The investigation is continuing into what factor, if any, alcohol may have contributed to this collision.
