Bail hearing and plea dates have been set for a Sydney man facing multiple offences including drug trafficking.
Francis Todd Axworthy, 45, of Victoria Road, is charged with 10 counts of breaching court orders, and single counts of mischief relating to property damage (a window), possession for the purpose of trafficking involving cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, resisting arrest and conspiracy.
Axworthy, who continues to be on remand, is now scheduled to have a bail hearing Nov. 19.
He is also scheduled to enter pleas to the charges Dec. 9.
Plea date set
A Sydney Mines man is to return to provincial court at the end of the month on sex offences and breaching his release conditions.
Brian Daniel John Harrietha, 23, is charged with three counts of breaching court orders and single counts of sexual assault and sexual touching.
The breaches are alleged to have occurred Sept. 2, 2019 in Sydney Mines while the sex offences are alleged to have occurred in December 2017 in North Sydney.
Meanwhile, Harrietha is scheduled to stand trial in Supreme Court on a single count of sexual assault.
The judge alone trial is set for Nov. 26-27.
Harrietha, who continues his release on conditions, is to return to provincial court Nov. 30 to enter pleas.
Plea date set on drug trafficking
A Sydney man has been released on conditions after being charged with drug trafficking.
Alfred Milton Lyons, 31, of Rotary Drive is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine and possession of money obtained by crime. The offences are alleged to have occurred Nov. 12 in Sydney.
He is also charged with assault causing bodily harm and uttering a threat that are alleged to have occurred May 25 in Sydney.
Among the conditions of his release, Lyons is to abide by a curfew, report, by phone, once a week to Cape Breton Regional Police, he is to refrain from drugs not prescribed him and is not to appear intoxicated in public.
A plea to the charge is now expected Dec. 7.
