Two custom bikes stolen from an Edmonton Paralympian have been returned, thanks to her story’s exposure and the help of a friendly stranger.

Amanda Rummery’s black Cannondale and red Schwinn, which were used in training and competition and which had modified handlebars, were taken from a detached garage at the end of August.

“A Good Samaritan recognized the two bikes from previous media coverage, and contacted police with details regarding their whereabouts in southwest Edmonton,” reads a Thursday news release.

Southwest Division Const. Cody Kendrick … returned the two bikes to a very happy owner earlier today.”

Rummery had her arm amputated when she was 18 after an ATV crash. She holds Canadian records for the 100M, 200M and 400M Paralympic track events. She hopes to represent Canada at the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games.
