Between 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 11, Kings District RCMP dealt with three different events all resulting in the seizure of vehicles and charges laid.

It began on Monday with a report of a speeding motorcycle in Vernon River area that was eventually located in the Montague area.

The motorcycle speed was reported at more than 143 km/hour in a posted 80 km/hour zone.

Later Monday, just after 10 p.m., police received call of a possible impaired driver in Souris West.

A 23-year-old man from Kings County was located and arrested for impaired driving and driving while prohibited.

The man provided breath samples twice the legal limit and was released when safe to do so Tuesday morning.

The third event, which took place around 6:30 a.m. Aug. 11, involved report of a car travelling aggressively in the Millview area.

The vehicle was observed passing several vehicles on double solid lines and travelling at speeds of 153 km/hour in posted 90 km/hour zone.

Kings District RCMP would like to remind drivers that speeding, especially at excessive speeds, or any degree of impaired driving will result in vehicle impoundments in addition to fines and/or jail time.
