CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Work may finally get underway this year on the long-awaited roundabout project on St. Peters Road in Charlottetown.
The issue of connecting the road with Brackley Point Road and Belvedere Avenue has been discussed for more than a decade but has gotten hung up on land purchases and federal money.
However, Coun. Terry MacLeod, chairman of council’s standing committee on public works, has been pushing the issue.
MacLeod attempted to put the roundabout on the agenda of the public works committee meeting in December and was told that it is currently part of the capital budget discussions.
The 2021-22 capital budget will likely be tabled in February and includes expenditures for projects such as this.
