SYDNEY, N.S. — The future site of the Sydney fire station was bustling with activity during the early stages of construction on Friday.

The new fire hall is being built on the southwest corner of George and Pitt streets and will replace the Esplanade station that is set to be razed to allow for the building of the new Nova Scotia Community College campus on the Sydney waterfront.
