He might’ve looked like a stealth cat burglar, but he was just trying to get his pet back.
On Wednesday afternoon, a man hopped over the 10th-floor balcony of his Liberty Village apartment and shimmied along a ledge to a neighbour’s balcony to retrieve his wandering cat.
Apparently going down the hall and knocking on the door didn’t cross this guy’s mind, as if he had nine lives.
Jeff Powell lives in a condo across the way and videoed the Wallenda-type guy.
“I was inside and washing a dish while talking business on the phone,” said Powell, founder of Landmark Athletics.
“Then I noticed this cat on the side of the building and a guy pulled it back and I just thought it was funny because the guy pulled it back.”
Two men on the balcony with the cat went back inside but didn’t shut the balcony door behind them and the cat went back to the ledge and crossed to the next balcony and Powell got his camera.
“The cat slides under the two inch gap of balcony glass (belonging to the neighbour) and then it starts to get good. The guy hops off the balcony onto the ledge,” said Powell, adding he didn’t want to yell and startle the guy because if he fell “it would be on me.”
“It was like he had done it before, but I worried the worst. I didn’t know what to do but to continue to film. I was impressed he made it back so easily He took the cat in and shut the door.”
