Nov. 25: Public health issues potential COVID-19 warnings in Halifax area, corrects some dates and times

On Wednesday night, Nova Scotia Public Health identified various locations across Halifax Regional Municipality as potential COVID-19 exposure sites. 

If you were at the following locations on the given date and time, call 811 immediately to arrange a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not you have symptoms. 

  • Oxford Taproom (6418 Quinpool Rd., Halifax) on Nov. 17 between noon and 3:30 p.m. 
  • Bearly’s House of Blues & Ribs (1269 Barrington St., Halifax) Nov. 19 between 9 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. 
  • The Auction House (1726 Argyle St., Halifax) on Nov. 19 from 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. 
  • ROGUE Fitness (6331 Lady Hammonds Rd., Halifax) on Nov. 19 between 6:45 p.m. and 9 p.m. 
  • RIO Pilates & Yoga Studio (2470 Maynard St., Halifax) on Nov. 19 between 6:45 a.m. and 9 a.m. and Nov. 20 between 6:45 a.m. and 9 a.m. 
  • Uncommon Grounds (1030 South Park St., Halifax) on Nov. 20 between 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. 
  • The Roxbury Urban Dive Bar (1743 Grafton St., Halifax) on Nov. 20 between 9:30 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Nova Scotia Public Health has also corrected times and dates for the exposure warnings previously issued at Mary's African Cuisine, Sea Smoke Restaurant and Bar and Hermitage Restaurant. 

  • Mary’s African Cuisine (1701 Barrington St., Halifax) on Nov. 19 between 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m
  • Sea Smoke Restaurant and Bar (1477 Lower Water St., Halifax) on Nov. 21 from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 
  • Hermitage Restaurant (1460 Lower Water St., Halifax) at any time between Nov. 18 and Nov. 21.

It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus may develop symptoms up to two weeks after the date and time of the potential exposure warning. 



Nova Scotia reported 16 new cases, which were identified on Tuesday, bringing the province's active known total to 102.

For at least two weeks starting Thursday, the following establishments in western and central HRM, including Bedford, Sackville, Mount Uniacke, and the areas from Fall River to Enfield and Elmsdale and from Dartmouth to Porters Lake, will be closed:

  • all licensed restaurants and bars will be closed for in-person dining but may provide take-out or delivery
  • organized sports, recreational, athletic, arts and cultural activities, and faith-based activities will be paused
  • profit and non-profit fitness and recreational facilities, including gyms, pools, and rinks
  • libraries and museums, including the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia
  • the casino and First Nations gaming establishments
