THREE RIVERS, P.E.I. – A P.E.I. man who tried contacting a woman despite an order not to was recently sentenced to five days in jail for breaching an undertaking.

Joshua David MacDonald, 31, appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Georgetown where he pleaded guilty to breaching an undertaking.

The court heard MacDonald was released on an undertaking in relation to another matter and it included a condition he not have contact with several people.

Crown attorney Chad McQuaid told the court MacDonald tried to call one of them several times, sent lengthy messages to her on social media service Snapchat and used his cousin’s phone to text her.

MacDonald has since entered into a recognizance not to have any contact with the woman.
