Police seize methamphetamine pills during traffic stop in Linkletter, P.E.I.

LINKLETTER, P.E.I. — A 35-year-old man faces charges after a targeted vehicle stop was conducted in Linkletter, P.E.I. on Tuesday.

The Prince District Joint Force Operations (JFO) Unit, which is comprised of RCMP and Summerside and Kensington police members, stopped a motorcycle on July 28, where the driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

As a result of this stop, police seized 224 methamphetamine pills.

The man has been charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, resisting arrest and breach of probation.

He will appear in provincial court in Summerside on July 29.

The investigation into this matter is still ongoing.
