Three teenage boys went out on the water Wednesday when their boat capsized near Northport.
One of the boys made it to shore around 9:30 p.m. and called 911.
Once the report of the teens was received, Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) teams searched diligently alongside JRCC and RCMP officers, volunteer fire community members, volunteer fire members, and community members on land and in private vessels on the water.
The area was expanded and searched until 9 p.m. when the it determined to be too unsafe to search in the dark.
Regrettably, based on the results of the search over the last 20+ hours, a search covering over 14.5 sq km by sea and air, and the environmental factors, the search for the two missing 17 year olds has been suspended. 1/2
