CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A recent outbreak of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital is over.

Earlier this month, the hospital placed restrictions on the number of visitors to Unit 3 at the hospital after an outbreak of the antibiotic resistant bacteria.

The hospital lifted those restrictions Wednesday and is allowing visitors to the unit in accordance with the general visiting guidelines during COVID-19.

Visitors to Health P.E.I. facilities must wear a mask, maintain physical distancing and complete hand hygiene when entering or exiting the facility, unit or patient room.
