SYDNEY, N.S. — Unendorsed arrest warrants have been issued for an accused, a victim and three witnesses who failed to attend a provincial court hearing.

The warrants were issued Tuesday and when arrested, the individuals can only be released by a judge.

The trial was for Valerie Ashley Kennedy, 30, of Sydney Mines who is charged with assault causing bodily harm and breaching a court order by failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Also subject to a warrant is the complainant in the case, Keyonna Arsenault of Sydney Mines, and Crown witnesses Jade Bennett of Rudderham Road, Darryl MacLean of Florence and James MacLean, also of Florence.

The offences are alleged to have occurred Dec. 3, 2018 in Sydney Mines. The trial was scheduled in May 2019 for Jan. 14.
