ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — A man went with $20,000 in outstanding motor vehicle fines was escorted to provincial court after being stopped by police on Thursday afternoon.

The 40-year-old man was stopped by Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers in the city’s went end and was found to be operating his vehicle without insurance, a driver’s license, expired registration and false registration stickers on the license plate.

The RNC impounded the vehicle.
