Elderly woman in Grand Falls-Windsor has purse grabbed while walking from her vehicle to bank

A mid-day purse snatching is being investigated by RCMP in Grand Falls-Windsor.

On Wednesday, Nov. 28 at approximately 3 p.m, RCMP responded to a complaint of a robbery in the CIBC parking lot in Grand Falls-Windsor.

An elderly woman, who was walking from her vehicle towards the bank, had her purse stolen by a female suspect who then fled on foot.

The suspect was chased and confronted by two bystanders. She dropped the purse and continued to run away on foot. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as being in her early twenties, between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet four inches, approximately 120 pounds with dark colored hair.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of Forensic Identification Services.
