Emergency exercises to take place at Robin Hood Bay Landfill site today in St. John's

Garbage is handled at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility. The City of St. John’s is still interested in investigating the potential for biogas power at the site in future.

Expect to see smoky skies today if you live near the Robin Hood Bay Landfill site.

The City of John’s will conduct emergency exercises at the Robin Hood Bay Landfill site from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The St. John’s Regional Fire Department will be on site conducting controlled burning exercises. Residents may see smoke coming from the site during this time.

The landfill will be open for business as usual.
