A 23-year-old man is facing multiple charges this morning (Tuesday) after he fled from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary around 9:30 p.m. Monday night.
The RNC attempted to make a routine traffic stop on Blackmarsh Road as they identified the suspect’s vehicle speeding. The driver subsequently fled from the RNC but was located later on a cul-de-sac just off of Blackmarsh Road.
The man had exited the vehicle, but was found a short time later with the assistance of the K-9 unit.
He was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, flight from police, driving while prohibited, two probation breaches and issued tickets for operating a vehicle with no insurance or registration.
The vehicle was impounded and the man was taken to the lockup overnight to appear in court in St. John’s this morning.
