There will be a funeral mass 10 oclock this morning from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist in St. Johns for Alyssa Power, killed tragically in a car crash last Friday.
The 19-year-old victim was a new mother who had an infant girl just weeks ago.

The circumstances of Powers death are now under investigation by the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team, who is investigating the RNCs involvement in the accident.
The crash occurred after police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Hamlyn Road in St. Johns. The 17-year-old girl driving the car apparently took off, speeding through an intersection and striking another vehicle.

She has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and flight from police.
In the meantime, friends of Power have created a Go-Fund Me page and other fundraisers to help Powers family, in particular her infant daughter.
