A Green’s Harbour man was arrested for impaired driving over the weekend after police found his vehicle in a ditch in Tilton.
According to a Bay Roberts RCMP news release, police received several tips in the early hours of Saturday, March 23, about a possible impaired driver in the community. One tip eventually confirmed the suspected vehicle was in a ditch near Tilton.
Upon arrival at the scene, police determined the driver was impaired. Breath samples taken at the Harbour Grace RCMP detachment were three times the legal limit.
The accused, 45, had his licence suspended and vehicle impounded for 30 days. He was held overnight and released the following day with a promise to appear in court at a later date.
