Thousands lined the route of the Downtown St. John’s Christmas Parade on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019. More than 100 entries including clowns, cartoon and Disney characters, marching bands, cheerleaders, floats, local celebrities and media personalities, and Santa Claus. Canada Post employees volunteering in the parade collected childrens’ letters to Santa and a food drive was held for the community food sharing association. Also, for the first time in the St. John’s parade, a section of the route was sensory free, meaning lights, sirens and music was turned off as the parade passed through that section.
