A long walk for a good cause

Dave Sheppard (left) and Kevin Garnier were near the end of their 50-kilometre walk from Deer Lake to Corner Brook as they walked along the Humber River just outside of Steady Brook early Wednesday evening. The walk was Garnier’s idea and is his way of honouring his brother, Rob Garnier, who died in March. The two hope to raise $20,000 for the Western Regional Hospital Foundation to purchase a cuddle bed for palliative care. Rob Garnier spent a week in palliative care at Western Memorial Regional Hospital before he died.
