A 20-year-old man faced a host of charges during a Sunday morning court appearance.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) got a report of a stolen vehicle around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night from the centre area of St. John’s.

This vehicle was being driven recklessly and the RNC received a number of calls about the vehicle.

A search commenced in the region when a call came in about a second stolen vehicle, this time in the Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s area.

The driver again abandoned that vehicle and stole a third one in the East end of St. John’s.

The RNC located that stolen vehicle in the centre city area of St. John’s around 11 p.m.

The driver attempted to flee, but had to bail out of the vehicle and attempted to run away. He was arrested by the responding officers.

The man was charged with the thefts of the motor vehicles, flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.

He was taken to St. John’s city lockup to appear in court in the Sunday morning.

The total number of calls for service from 4 a.m. to 4 a.m. were 160.
